During FY’2021-2022 LFDCS disseminated LFDCS’s innovative school practices and shared resources and programs developed at LFDCS and by presenting at professional conferences.
In February, 2021, the Digital Instructor and a K-1 teacher presented to attendees at the MassCUE conference through a pre-recorded presentation shared on Zoom and answered questions for the live Q&A on I SEE, I SAY, I HEAR - Literacy Tools for the Elementary Classroom showing how Popplet, Flipgrid and Edpuzzle can be used in the elementary classroom to introduce, promote and enhance English language literacy.
In June, 2021 LFDCS shared resources and programs developed at LFDCS by producing an audio presentation on our school’s Remote Learning Academy. LFDCS shared this presentation with the Massachusetts Charter School Association who highlighted our school’s Remote Learning Academy in their weekly School Leaders Weekly on June 29, 2021 through their listserv email distribution group. This audio presentation was designed to provide guidance, provoke reflection, discussion and solve problems with remote learning. Bringing together a range of educator voices, the audio presentation highlights technological, infrastructural and instructional best practices for remote learning. At the same time, it explores the social-emotional, cognitive and resource challenges that many families faced, in effect providing a whole-child lens on distance learning practices. The readers of this report learned about the best practices around planning and operating an effective Remote Learning Academy.
On June 25, 2021 the RTI & Assessment Coordinator presented at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) Conference via Zoom to participants attending the annual conference. ASCD is a nationwide conference held for educators, administrators and educational professionals working in the field. Her presentation included Google Slides and Padlet on LFDCS’s Response to Intervention (RTI)/Creating Academic Interventions for Struggling Students.
