Our 8th graders will present their Portfolios in the Upper School Gymnasium from June 8 - June 10. They have spent the last few months reminiscing on memories and reflections with academic and personal growth, which they will present to their families, peers, and teachers.

We will stay on the time schedule so you will know exactly when your student will present his or her portfolio to the faculty of LFDCS. This is an important graduation requirement. We strongly urge all parents to attend this culminating event for our 8th grade class.  Students will present in the gymnasium at their corresponding time.

Graduating members of the Class of 2026 will have a chance to visit Canobie Lake in Salem, New Hampshire. Students will take school buses, leaving the Upper School no later than 8:30am that morning. Students will return at 3:00pm that afternoon. Parents are expected to be at the school for pick-up on time at the end of this trip. 

Students will receive class t-shirts to wear on this trip, and are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. The water park will be closed during our visit, so bathing suits are not necessary. Students will be allowed to hold onto their cell phones during this experience in order to take pictures and call their chaperone if they get seperated. 

Lunch will be provided, but students are allowed to bring additional money if they would like to purchase food or other items. 

Practice for Graduation (June 15)

All eighth grade students must come to school at the regular time to meet attendance requirements. Students and their teachers will practice the Entrance and Exit Processions, seating plan, procedures for graduation. 

Yearbook Signing and Pizza Party (June 15)

After the graduation practice, members of the Class of 2026 will gather in the Foley Library to receive their yearbook and have time to sign messages of good wishes to their classmates. Students will also place their special tile project in the frame for the Class of 2026 to be displayed in our Cafeteria. Students will be dismissed at 11:00 am with sufficient time to get ready for graduation. 

Graduation Ceremony (June 15)

All eighth graders who have completed the requirements for graduation will participate in this very special event. Students who do not meet graduation requirements will receive their diploma, yearbook, and t-shirt at the completion of the Summer School program. 

Dress: Dress code for graduation is formal/semi-formal; jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, sweatpants, and sweatshirts are not permitted. Appropiate options include button-down shirts or polos, dress pants or khakis, and dresses that are at or below knee length with straps. Caps and gowns will be provided for students the day of graduation. Gowns must be returned following gradution, but students may keep the caps as a memento.

Arrival: Graduates must arrive no later than 5:00pm and will report to the Upper School Cafeteria. 

Ceremony: Will begin promptly at 6:00pm. All guests must be in their assigned seats. Student awards for the fourth quarter will be recognized and received during graduation. 

Only 3 guests will be permitted per graduate. Tickets were distributed individually to students as of June 1. The ceremony will be livestreamed, and the link is shared below.
