5th Grade Participates in Week-Long Engineering Program PDF Print E-mail

This past June, students in the 5th grade participated in week-long engineering program focused on building a submersible which could retrieve an object from the bottom of a fish tank.  Students collaborated to test and redesign their submersible until the proper buoyancy was established to achieve their goal.  This program was a joint effort between the Museum of Science and the LFDCS STEM Team, who has been focused on the engaging students with the hands-on experience of the engineering design process. This intensive unit was one of six different STEM units delivered throughout the school year and was well received by students and teachers alike. Please click on the link below:
